matter matters...

In search of meaning I started studying neuroscience and philosophy in my early 20's. I soon found my way to the fields of embodied cognition and embodied social justice, which move me to this day and scientifically substantiate my work. They are the starting point of my journey into the body, the earth, my initation into matter and my great love for the simplicity and calmness of being-with, here and now. Today I believe that we do not only strive and search for meaning, but above all are longing for moments of feeling deeply alive and belonging.

'[...] seeking an experience of being alive, so that our life experiences on the purely physical plane will have resonances with our own innermost being and reality, so that we actually feel the rapture of being alive.' Joseph Campbell

For me, these moments of aliveness and unfolding are present again and again through a loving contact and full presence with our body. Lomi Lomi Nui, Shiatsu and working with the earth, clay and water are wonderful keys to discovering aspects of this inner contact with the sources of your aliveness and vitality.

Massage

my approach(es)

My modalities of the art of touch are based on the 3-year Shiatsu training at the Shiatsu School in Berlin and my training and initiation in Lomi Lomi Nui Massage in Germany and Israel.
As a practitioner, I softly strive to practice not-knowing, un-knowing and un-learning following these principles:

  • Aloha: Loving and unconditional presence

  • Following the wisdom of the body

  • Mana: Leading in being lead, the sources of healing lie within

  • Makia: Breath and awareness guiding me

  • Everything is welcome

  • Slowness in depth, slowness in meeting boundaries

  • Working with and through the earth: an interplay of the elements

Working with clay and turning the pottery wheel further deepen my sensitivity in the interaction between giving support and structure and listening and being guided. It nourishes my deep connection to the elements earth and water, but also fire and air. The importance of being centered in the hara is very central here. That's how working on the wheel is such a wonderful mirror for our being-in-the-world and a chance for profound and simple self-encounter.
